Event Details
The BUgette is a fresh new venture from Brisbane Unplugged Gigs Inc, created to champion acoustic-style live music and further connect with acoustic music lovers and the younger Bohemian crowd in West End. We’re all about growing Brisbane’s underground acoustic scene and creating a safe, vibrant space where creatives can connect, celebrate each other, and maybe even jump into a session or two.
THE FORMAT
The format for the evening is very similiar to The BUg (New Farm):
- 6.30pm – doors open (bar is actually open from 4pm)
- 7pm – Dead Song Society with Pipin, aka Bec Hoole.
- 7.45pm – first featured act – Stafford Woods
- 8.45pm – second featured act – Eden King Trio
Hosts: Elyse Fitzpatrick from The Salty Sirens
THE VENUE
The venue is The End Bar, 73 Vulture Street, West End – gig home of The Salty Sirens.
The End is a laid-back bar in West End, known for its craft beers and cocktails. Its industrial-chic vibe is softened by lush greenery, vintage leather couches, a layered timber bar, and quirky nods to its past life.
THE FEATURE ACTS
7:00pm Dead Song Society
DEAD SONG SOCIETY has arrived hosted by Bec Hoole (AKA indie artist Pipin), is a bold new community-singing project inspired by the spirit of Dead Poets Society, celebrating creativity, connection and joyful rebellion. Gather to sing fun, quirky songs, embrace your inner mischief-maker, and discover the freedom that comes from raising voices together. Carpe cantum – seize the song!
7:45pm Stafford Wood
Stafford Woods unites Jeremy Stafford (guitar) and Joel Woods (mandolin) in a high-energy bluegrass and folk collaboration. Inspired by the raw drive of Sleep with One Eye Open by Chris Thile and Michael Daves, they’ve honed their sound at West End Bluegrass Jam and the National Folk Festival.
8:45pm Eden King Trio
Eden King is a folk singer/songwriter based in Meanjin (Brisbane). Blending gentle melodies with honest, melancholic lyrics, Eden’s music sits somewhere between quiet reflection and open-hearted storytelling.
