Women Weaving Stories with Song - Ella Doneman

Women Weaving Stories with Song is a brand new monthly series from Womenspace Sandgate – and this is where it all begins.

Each month, a different female artist will take the stage to share her story and her soul through live performance. Expect a rich diversity of voices, ages, and cultures represented across the series.

This inaugural event features Ella Doneman, jazz singer, educator, disability support worker and advocate based in Meanjin (Brisbane). Ella’s mission is simple and powerful – to spread joy and create a world where every note counts, just like every voice deserves to be heard. Her motto on and off the stage: Be seen, Be heard, Be safe, Be kind.

Ella will be accompanied by the extraordinaryJeff Usher – composer, pianist, arranger and music educator with over forty years of performance experience across Australia and the world. A member of the jazz faculty at Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University since 1998, Jeff is, as Paul Grabowsky once said, “one of Brisbane’s living treasures.”

Sunday 15 March Doors open 2:30pm for a 3pm start Performances finish 4pm – stay on for drinks and nibblies

Tickets are $10 or $15 – please choose what you can comfortably afford. We want everyone to be here.

Part of proceeds go directly to the performing artist. The remainder supports Womenspace’s ongoing work with women in our community.
