THESE IDLE HANDS

Gold Coast Hinterland based These Idle Hands are an elusive kind of sonic event, their acoustic balladry & harrowingly intimate lyricism combine to craft often hauntingly powerful Dark folk & Americana.

Over their five years together, the band have graced numerous stages and street events including Ground Water Festival, Festival Of Small Halls & Higher Ground Festival, not to mention many other regional halls & venues.

TIH have received high praise & air play, both here & overseas for their three album releases, Petrichor & Meraki, and their latest eponymously titled third album.

These Idle Hands will pull you in and hold you close like a warm, familiar embrace.

MILLY & THE MATHS SHOW

Milly and the Maths Show is a family band that frolics amongst influences from various storytelling traditions, such as folk, country, indie-rock and art music. Weaving together intricate sonic textures and emotionally resonant melodies and echoing the likes of Joanna Newsom, Kate Bush, Gillian Welch, and Radiohead, the project explores themes of war & peace, intergenerational grief, solitude, love and connection.

Off the back of three single releases since the end of 2025, the band is building strong momentum in the Brisbane original music scene, based on a unique approach to songwriting, and the band’s focus on community building with audiences, other artists and local venues.

CLARE COWLEY

Clare Cowley is a song-writer originally from Allora, Queensland, based in Meanjin/Brisbane. With ‘delicately powerful vocals’, Cowley summons the spirit of folk music. Her performances feature bluesy guitar playing, smoky piano and harmonica. HAPPY MAG says, “Her songwriting holds a rare hypnotic quality, enchanting listeners with sing-along abilities evoking the likes of Norah Jones and Sarah Blasko.” In 2023, produced by Dylan Jeffreys, Clare’s sophomore album, Desire Notes has been celebrated with sellout shows in intimate venues across Qld and NSW.
