Samichoux + Pigmoth & Hicktown Barnaby (solo)

We have watched both these bands develop over the past year and are delighted to present them on the same bill.

Pig Moth could well be Brisbane’s most exciting young jazz group. Off-the chart-inventive drumming from Cale, keys in Donald Fagan territory from Cass, Hayden on bass and sax from Rory showing that occasionally you just dont need vocals. Polyrhythms, shifting time signatures, fleeting glimpses of hooks .. the musicality of this band is jaw dropping.

In support for this splendid Sunday sesh is Samichoux. Once again, an incredible band with Pat on drums, Harper on keys, Noah on Nile Rodgers-style electric, Sami himself on grooving bass and vocals. No wonder he cites Sting as an influence. Parcels have shown that this kind of funky pop can go intersteller .. Samichoux is sitting in the departure lounge waiting to catch the same flight.
