Event Details

20th January – 7th February

No Barriers is a photo exhibition documenting the rise of the punk and hardcore scene on the Sunshine Coast in 2025.

This work documents all aspects of the scene through direct photography, including bands, crowds, venues, and the physical environment in which these shows take place. The images focus on what is present rather than what is performed. no staging, no separation, no polish.

All photographs were taken at the heart of this now family: the Black Box Theatre in Nambour, a venue that has played a central role in the development of the local scene. This space has provided consistent access to live music, its youth, and has allowed bands and audiences to form a sustained community.

This exhibition approaches the scene as both participant and documentarian, recording moments as they occur and preserving them as a record of this period in time.

No barriers between the artist and the audience.
No barriers between the camera and the moment.

* Opening event 23rd January
