Event Details

Duo Aki – Eden Annesley and Lola Schuele is a violin, saxophone, shakuhachi (Japanese flute) and looper duo working at the intersection of Australian and Japanese classical and contemporary music. The duo has represented Australia at the 2025 Osaka World Expo and continues to build a distinctive body of work shaped by cross-cultural exchange.

Described as “beautiful, interesting and evocative” by Gina Williams AM and Guy Ghouse AM, Duo Aki invites audiences into rich musical narratives of identity and environment, informed by their time living and working in Japan. Their music is refined, textural and deeply considered, offering a unique listening experience that moves across traditions while remaining grounded in strong contemporary practice.

Duo Aki also works across disciplines, extending their musical practice into curatorship and collaboration. Recent projects include before/now/after, developed in collaboration with visual artist Monica Vejgaard.

Join us for this special performance on Saturday 21 March, 5pm, and experience a rare and thoughtful contemporary music event in an intimate listening setting.
