Charlotte Mclean Quartet

Charlotte Mclean is a vocalist and songwriter known for her distinctive voice, thoughtful approach to improvisation, and deep connection to the jazz tradition. Her music is grounded in the language of jazz while drawing naturally from the storytelling and melodic influences of folk, bluegrass and contemporary songwriting. Across five album releases spanning original music and straight-ahead jazz projects, Charlotte has developed a sound that feels both personal and deeply informed by the tradition. Whether performing standards or her own compositions, she brings honesty, warmth and musical depth to each performance.

As an improviser, Charlotte is known for bringing a fresh perspective to familiar material, shaping each performance through close interaction with the musicians around her and a strong sense of lyric and narrative.

For this performance, Charlotte is joined by Paul Henderson on guitar, Nick Quigley on double bass, and Chris Evans on drums, with Sierra Webb and Emily Scholler on backing vocals, for an intimate evening of original music, expressive ensemble playing, and lyrics that are both authentic and unexpected.
