This week sprawled across the facade is Christopher Bassi, “Grow” (2020), returning as part of “TEN”.
Bringing together works from artists across the Outer Space community over the last decade,
“TEN” traces personal and collective histories through memory, identity, place and belonging.
An Australian artist of Meriam, Yupungathi and British descent, Bassi’s practice uses the language of painting to explore cultural identity, alternative genealogies, counter-narratives and speculation. “Grow” reflects on these themes through a striking visual presence that transforms the corner of Brunswick and Berwick Streets each night.
