AKITU is our midyear gathering — a ritual of rhythm, renewal, and collective ignition.

On May 30, we transform the iconic Billinudgel Hotel into a sonic sanctuary once again — immersive décor, ceremonial energy, and a dancefloor charged with intention.

Hypnotic electronica meets flamenco fire, Middle Eastern motifs, rolling percussion and trumpet lines from another dimension. Expect a deep, driving winter set — cinematic, percussive and unrelenting in all the right ways.

Stepping into the twilight zone with a sound that bends between shadow and propulsion. Textured, psychedelic, groove-forward energy designed for heads-down dancefloor immersion. Doppel takes the place of Smilk this year — and trust us, the frequency shift is real.

MONSIEUR DIOP

Eclectic, eccentric and unapologetically hedonistic, Monsieur Diop crafts dancefloor journeys that blur the line between Calypso and Techno, weaving tribal rhythms, jazz, soul and highlife funk into world downtempo electronic soundscapes. A longtime creative force in both Berlin and Byron Bay, he channels “order in chaos” through sets that feel organic, poetic and deeply immersive. From Sisyphos to Splendour in the Grass, and through his own Bare Foot Beat gatherings, Monsieur Diop delivers a ritualistic blend of global grooves and new-age philosophy — a voyage of rhythm, story and ecstatic movement.

SHEJ

SHEJ is the DJ alter-ego of Australian artist Sheila Finke — a selector known for deep, hypnotic journeys through deep house, techno and dub techno. Drawing from years immersed in rhythm and underground culture, her sets move between warm deep grooves, spacious dub textures and driving late-night energy.
