EROS is a Valentine’s Day art showcase highlighting female, trans, and POC creatives in Meanjin, with 50% of all profit being donated to the LGBTI Legal Service!

PROFIT DISTRIBUTION
We aim to be completely transparent in where your money goes! 50% of the profit from this event shall be donated to the LGBTI Legal Service, with the other 50% being split between our artists as profit share.
THE LGBTI LEGAL SERVICE
The LGBTI Legal Service is a non-profit community legal service that was launched in 2010 by the Hon Michael Kirby AC CMG. The Service recognises the difficulties faced by the LGBTQIA+ community and strives to provide access to justice and legal assistance to all Queenslanders within the LGBTQIA+ community. The Service also endeavours to regularly provide community and legal education activities and resources in order to increase awareness of legal rights and issues relating to the LGBTQIA+ community in Queensland. The Service includes a Law Reform division, which is actively involved in advocating for law reform and human rights affecting the LGBTQIA+ community.

Mother Gore (aka Nikhita) is a Magandjin based artist inspired by the use of DIY and punk elements to subvert expectations. Their designs are weird and bold, often linking to personal experiences including the body and identity. They have a passion for slow creating techniques such as beading and crocheting, creating unique pieces of art; stitch by stitch, brush stroke by brush stroke. GROUNDLICKER (Harley Newton Cash) – he/it
Harley Newton Cash is GROUNDLICKER, a multi-media artist working in Meanjin, Queensland. Inspired by horror movies, internet culture, and informed by its experiences as a mentally ill queer person, Harley uses a mix of grotesque and humorous as a backboard for self-expression and reflection on the landscape of the current world. Lilith – she/her/them
Lilith is a poet and artist creating on Meanjin land. Lilith enjoys painting beautiful chaos using vivid colors. She loves transmuting her emotions into art for people to witness and connect with. Some artworks come to them in dreams! Some are inspired by beautiful words or big feelings! Hannah O’Shea-Breed – she/her
Hannah O’Shea-Breed is a queer/disabled artist and photographer whose work spans a variety of mediums and genres, including photography, digital art and printmaking. Often showcasing high-contrast, theatrical imagery, reflecting her experience in theatre, art and editorial education, informing a varied and practice exploring subculture, queerness and the turbulent coexistence of isolation and community in her experience as a young creative in an ever-changing field. Vanessa – she/her
Vanessa is an artist and jewellery maker based in Brisbane/Meanjin. Her label, ‘ness.etc’ began as a creative outlet to experiment with different forms of wearable art. She uses a combination of techniques including beading, wirework and sculpting to create dreamy & experimental jewellery with a slight edge. Every piece is handcrafted using high quality materials like stainless steel, glass, and natural stones. Max Alverson is an emerging artist working within Toowoomba Queensland and studying Visual Arts. He is passionate about investigating the self and others, human connectedness, and relationships. Arianna Nixon – she/her
Arianna Nixon is an artist from Magan-djin (Brisbane) exploring visual cultures, gender, & cultural dissonance in context with the ongoing oppression of transgender communities. She employs a dialectical materialist approach to surrealism utilising proprietary analog video techniques and continues to explore and delve into new layers of graphic dist ortion and visual dissonance. Tangles Dwyer is an emerging artist based in Meanjin, driven by tactile exchange. Their work explores fetishism and kink as spaces of power, intimacy and transformation. Dwyer’s practice navigates the charged space between discomfort and care, inviting proximity and reflection, implicating the viewer into the power dynamics being explored. Wren is an illustrator and tattoo artist based in Meanjin. Inspired by horror, science-fiction, nature, gothic literature, surrealism (and whatever else they are taken by that day), they aim to create art that serves both as an expression of neurodivergent and trans/queer identity, and a vehicle for self-exploration. Kat Abril – they/them
Kat Abril (they/them) is a 27-year-old Queer Panamanian artist who started working in traditional mediums in 2014, They moved to Meanjin in 2024 where they have continued to explore the philosophy that “Art is Play.” Kat draws inspiration from nature, the surreal, and dreams. MJ O’Neill is a prolific Magandjin-based music-maker counted among her country’s most accomplished electronic producers and composers – her work has soundtracked award-winning videogames, been streamed over 100,000 times worldwide, and aired across both NTS and NPR radio and clubs in Rotterdam, Glasgow, and Berlin. Malithi is a multidisciplinary performance artist, drawing inspiration from her experiences as a queer, disabled, woman of colour residing in Meanjin, offering hope for those that might be in a similar position. Malithi first fell in love with burlesque through a university club, and she’s a fierce advocate for the art form’s expression, body-positivity, and flirtatiousness!
